Aika Tenkuubashi (天空橋 愛佳, Tenkūbashi Aika) is the female protagonist of the series.

Appearance

Aika is a young girl with a petite frame, with a mixture of the colors orange, peach and blonde as her hair color. Her hair is short and straight, only reaching down to her shoulders, which is usually seen being tied into twin-tails, with red ribbons on each side, and she has big light brown eyes.

Aika is usually seen with her school uniform; which consists of a white dress with a brown collar, that has a ribbon on it, that matches with Aika's hair color, white stockings and brown shoes.

Personality

Aika is childish, naïve, and shy about talking to others. This distances her from them even though she wishes to be popular among her peers. Aika is strongly fascinated of the outside world; things like the PSP, ramen, and manga are but a few of her interests.

Aika is also very air headed and cheerful. When she first met Kimito, she wasn't shy at all and was willing to kiss him so her wish would be granted. Her wish was to become one of the popular persons in the school, like Reiko.

According to Kimito, she is very pure, to an unbelievable degree. She easily believes idiotic lies and yet cannot tell lies herself, and she is afraid of being hated or feeling a bad vibe. Aika is practically incapable of telling lies, and often says what is on her mind, regardless of how others might react. For this reason she has distanced herself from her classmates. She is also very gullible, causing her to be easily tricked by the mischievous Kimito.

Aika also has a tsundere-like personality, getting embarrassed and blushing very easily. She hides her true feelings for Kimito, but never admits it, although her feelings are very obvious, and because of this, she can get quite mad when she is wrong or when it comes to romance. But inside, she has a soft and cute personality.

Background

Not so much has been revealed about Aika's background (yet), but it is shown in a flashback to her childhood that a boy (Kimito) once helped her escape to see the wonderful things the outside world had to offer. Her family owns Tenkuubashi air transportation.

Plot

Aika is a student at Seikain Jogakkou. She is quite unpopular, so she wants Kimito to help her become more popular after he enrolls at the school. She tries to kiss him, believing that you can be popular if you kiss a commoner, but Kimito stops her. After Aika explains everything to Kimito, he agrees to help her. She makes the commoner club, with her as the president. She slowly gets closer to her goal with the help of her friends.

She asks Kimito to teach her how to be a commoner, and declares the establishment of the Commoner Club with Kimito as the master. She seems to have feelings for Kimito, beyond that of master and disciple.

Aika eventually confesses her feelings alongside the other three girls.

Kimito confesses his feelings for Aika under the christmas tree. At first, Aika couldn't believe it, since she’s not as beautiful as Reiko, not as smart as Haqua, and not as gentle as Karen but Kimito chose her nonetheless. She accepts and the two of them go look for the switch to light the Christmas tree and flip it.

The epilogue Aika and Kimito goes out on their date.

Trivia

• Aika (愛佳) means "loving skill."
• In the final chapter of the manga and the epilogue of the Light Novel, Aika and Kimito were about to kiss, until the rest of the female cast barged in scolding Kimito, unaware that Aika had once gave Kimito a mouth-to-mouth.
